Sleepwalking Study Reveals 1 in 3 Experience the Phenomenon
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 15 May 2012, 10:58 pm CEST
A new study shows that a
surprising amount of people will sleepwalk at one point in their
lives.
The habit of wandering around without conscious control is one that can undoubtedly be dangerous. In fact, in some cases people have been known to partake in activities that put themselves or others at risk.
The latest survey confirmed however that out of the 16,000 adults involved in the study, about 29 percent say they have sleepwalked at some point in their lives. This is the first type of non-laboratory study on the phenomenon as many researchers felt that changing the environment away from where the person normally sleeps could disrupt the behavior and therefore undermine the results of the study.
The study also addressed other situations, such as the use of sleeping pills or heavy drinking, that are known to make people partake in this abnormal nighttime phenomenon. It also appears that those taking medication for OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) or depression are more prone to sleepwalking though it’s hard to prove whether it is the condition or the medication which actually spurs the underlying cause.

Physician Directed Pharmacy Review Program
Excessive and chronic medication use among injured employees can result in escalating direct and indirect costs, rarely providing medical benefit. Recent studies demonstrate pharmacy costs represent 20% of the medical expenses in workers’ compensation. Many of these costs can be minimized or eliminated once identified through RWI’s medical bill review program.
Success is more readily achieved through a peer-to-peer conversation between RWI’s physician and the prescribing physician. Documenting a clear treatment plan to support the use of opioids with reevaluation at regular intervals as outlined in Evidence Based Medical (EBM) guidelines ensures all parties are on board with reductions, tapering and/or cessation of harmful medications. Suggested Criteria For RWI Physician Review:
Treating physician may not be prescribing medications consistent with EBM guidelines and/or often prescribes opioids
After 8 weeks of disability employees who have not returned to work and are taking opioids or other controlled substances
Opioid use started beyond the acute phase of the injury for no apparent reason
Ongoing use with no documentation of functional benefit (which can result in greater dysfunction)
Drug use possibly preventing employee from returning to work
Increased risk may exist for additional work related injuries to employee or coworkers
Potential diversion of medications (financial/economic gain can limit motivation to return to work)
Excessive amounts of daily opioid use (that may result in accidental death)
Future Medical Award cases in which medication costs are excessive (provide copy of Award with referral)
Medications being prescribed by multiple physicians
Employee often misplaces medication necessitating unscheduled refills and/or ER visits
Employee urinalysis negative for prescribed drugs
Employee refuses urinalysis
Medical food use
Topical compound use
Review Fees: Physician Fee – $250. per hour billed in .25 increments Provision of reports, faxes, emails at $95. per hour billed in .1 increments To refer a case please provide current medical reports, bills, and specific request for the review to RWI via fax 760.796.7564 or via our web site, workers compensation.

How to make Healthy Choices when shopping
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 10 May 2012, 6:33 pm CEST
Everyone wants to eat healthy, fit, and not have any worries about the foods you’re putting into your body. The biggest question here is how do you make these distinctions between what is truly heathly for you and what is not when you’re shopping at the grocery store? Here are some helpful hints in order to make your shopping experience more fun and beneficial!
Grocery stores and markets are beginning to put labels on foods that are a quick and easy evaluation of the health of that particular item. An in-store study was conducted in order to test the effectiveness of labels put onto foods while shopping. Half of the study group was set out on their own to pick and choose what they would like to eat. The other half of the group was treated to a 10-minute counseling session about what the labels stood for and this session focused on color in your food as well as eating fruits and vegetables. At the end of the study, the different foods that each group picked up were observed and the group that had been counseled about healthier options actually chose several more healthy foods than the other labeled options.
The moral of this story is that it could be highly beneficial to the health of our society to have descriptive labels revealing the true benefits of foods throughout grocery stores. It would also be beneficial to have a staff that is very knowledgable about certain foods in order to guide their customers in the right direction! Do you think this is a good idea?

Should Chew be Banned from MLB?
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 9 May 2012, 11:14 pm CEST
Baseball fans young and old tune into countless games during the summer and fall. It’s a time-honored American tradition synonymous with hot dogs, bobbleheads, and…chew?
The popularity of chewing tobacco in Major League Baseball is hard to ignore, and it’s for that reason that many interest groups have recommended banning it from the game. Their argument is that children will emulate how their favorite players act. If those players chew, so too will the kids.
But there’s one problem.
Not all chew is tobacco-based. We shouldn’t be quick to assume that all of those players are chewing tobacco when there is a wealth of smokeless tobacco-free products that use all-natural ingredients and form no addictive tendencies.
Herbal chew is a great replacement for tobacco, and it has none of the cancer-causing tendencies of smokeless tobacco or cigarettes. Many people, athletes included, use herbal chew to cut or decrease the amount of tobacco they use.
Often, people become just as addicted to the physical act of using snuff as they do to the product itself. Herbal chew allows people to maintain that habit while they work on the chemical addiction. Herbal chew can be a lifesaver.
What if our favorite players are using herbal chew to quit nicotine-based tobacco products?
At any rate, there are more benefits to herbal chew pouches and nasal snuff:
- Xylitol. The best pouches are made with Xylitol, which is also being used more and more often in gum. Xylitol has shown the ability to resist infections in the ear, or even general sepsis, according to BMC Microbiology.
- The juice is edible. When you chew tobacco, you cannot swallow the juice. (Well, physically you can, but nobody will recommend it.) Herbal pouches are non-toxic, so the juice can be swallow and enjoyed.
- Flavor choices. “Mellow” and “smooth” aren’t quite as delicious as “Wintergreen” and “Grape,” which are two of the popular choices for herbal chew. It makes those who work in close proximity to you very thankful that you’ve traded that ashy smoke smell for fruit.
Unfortunately, the small market for herbal chew has to compete against the powerhouse cigarette and chewing tobacco industry, which is a difficult game to enter. Still, the more prevalent herbal chew becomes, the more athletes will jump on board.
All About the Human Egg
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 9 May 2012, 11:02 pm CEST
The human female’s egg is the reproductive cell, also called the ovum or gamete. In mammals, the eggs are all present inside the female body at the time of birth. The egg is normally fertilized inside the female uterus, which quickly grows an additional organ—the placenta—to nourish and support the fertilized egg.
The yolk of the female human egg, which provides nourishment to the growing embryo before implantation in the womb, is very small in comparison to the yolk of oviparous animals (all birds and most fish, amphibians, and retiles). This is because the yolk of a human egg only needs to nourish the embryo for a short time—usually one to three weeks—before it becomes implanted in the uterus, which provides enough nourishment for sustained growth until the placenta and umbilical cord have completely formed.
Adapting the Human Egg to In Vitro Fertilization
In vitro fertilization is fertilization of the human egg outside the womb. In vitro literally means “in glass,” referring to the fertilization of human eggs inside glass laboratory equipment. There are a number of reasons that parents choose in vitro fertilization, but in nearly all cases it is a highly successful way to create thriving pregnancies with limited complications because it happens in a controlled setting with more options for individual parents’ needs.
The yolk of the human egg is only intended to nourish a fertilized egg long enough for it to travel down the fallopian tubes, where fertilization most often takes place, to the uterus where implantation occurs. This means that a fertility clinic has limited time once an egg becomes fertilized to first subject it to any desired genetic testing and then successfully place the embryo inside the human womb for implantation. In most cases, the entire process can take place during the first six days of fertilization, leaving plenty of nourishment until the embryo implants.
Egg Donation and Freezing Options
Human egg donation is on the rise with more women waiting until their thirties and forties to have children. Because human eggs are all present at birth, the longer a women waits to conceive, the older her eggs become and her chances of having a pregnancy with complications and/or a child with genetic or chromosomal abnormalities increases.
Donated eggs undergo egg freezing for later use. While most frozen eggs are used for in vitro fertilization in surrogate mothers, freezing eggs is an option that’s becoming more widely used by women who want to increase their fertility choices.
- Younger women who want to wait to start a family but want to create the option of using their own, younger, healthier eggs may choose to freeze eggs.
- Women undergoing chemotherapy or other treatments that can potentially harm eggs may choose to freeze eggs for later use.
- Women at risk for early menopause can freeze eggs before they are all depleted.
For women seeking options for egg donation, San Diego fertility clinics provide consultation, perform the procedure, and often take care of freezing and storage.
How to Protect Yourself from the Sun this Summer
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 8 May 2012, 9:11 pm CEST
It is well documented that
prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to skin cancers. It is
vital that every time you go out into the sun that you protect
yourself against the harsh UV rays. To stop yourself from
getting sunburnt make sure that you wear protective clothing, like
a hat and long sleeve shirt, and during the hottest part of the day
take shelter under a veranda or retractable
awning. You can also take shelter inside during the
middle of the day when the sun is at its hottest and keep your home
cool by leaving your front and back door open to allow the breeze
to move through your house. Maintain your security by keeping
your security doors
locked.
Shelter
The cheapest way to protect yourself from the sun this summer is to keep out of the sun, particularly during the hottest part of the day, which is between around eleven in the morning and four in the afternoon. Spend this part of the day inside keeping cool with either your air conditioner or open all the doors and windows to allow the breeze to move through your home. If you are enjoying the outdoors you should still take shelter either under a tree or under a veranda or retractable awning.
Protective clothing
Protect your skin from the sun by wearing the right clothing. If you are going to be spending time working or playing outdoors wear a light long sleeve shirt and preferably one with a collar to protect the back of your neck. You should also always wear a hat with a wide brim and that also shelters your ears and neck.
When swimming, you can protect yourself further by wearing a T-shirt in the water or a swimming vest. It is important to make sure that children are wearing adequate clothing while in the sun as often they have more sensitive skin that burns a lot more quickly.
Sunscreen
You should be applying sunscreen all year round, especially on your face to protect it from the harmful UV rays that can encourage premature aging. Buy a good quality sunscreen with the highest protection factor possible, such as a 30+. You can buy creams that are made specifically for use on the face which are not as thick as normal sunscreens and don’t leave the face feeling oily or greasy.
Your skin still absorbs UV rays in winter, even though there is no sun so don’t forget to protect your face with sunscreen and make it a part of your daily skincare routine. You can even buy moisturisers that contain a sunscreen and are great to use because you only need the one product and it means you won’t forget to put on the sun protection.
Tinted windows
You can protect yourself from the sun while in your car by installing tinted windows. Tinted windows filter out some of the sunlight and harmful rays that can easily burn you while you are in the car. Watch what parts of your skin the sun falls across while you are in the car and cover these exposed areas with clothing.

Tips for a Healthier BBQ Party
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 4 May 2012, 9:42 pm CEST
Traditionally, the delicious
food that has become so associated with backyard barbeque parties
is also loaded down with unhealthy fat, sodium and sugar. Fatty red
meats, potato chips and sugar-laden deserts are regulars at
barbeque parties, but what if there were healthier alternatives
that taste just as fantastic to serve at your next party Ideas for barbequed
food that is both healthy and delicious are plentiful, so here are
just a few examples of recipes you can try for your next barbeque
party.
Appetisers
Raw vegetables make for delicious and healthy snacks, especially when paired with a tasty dill dip. In a bowl, combine one cup of fat-free sour cream, one cup of fat-free mayonnaise, two tablespoons each of dill weed and parsley, one tablespoon each of garlic and minced onion and one teaspoon of salt. Chill for two hours before serving.
Everyone loves having potato chips at a barbeque, but homemade baked potato chips are much healthier than the deep fried store-bought ones. Start by washing some potatoes and slicing them to between one-eighth and one-sixteenth-inches thick. Coat the slices evenly with olive oil and lay them out on greased foil to bake at 400ºF. Once they reach your desired crispiness, season them with salt and allow them to cool.
Sides
Kebabs make great barbeque side dishes, and they are fun to experiment with. To make extra tasty and nutritious kebabs, skewer veggies such as eggplant, capsicum, zucchini, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes with cubes of haloumi cheese. Brush the whole thing with garlic and olive oil and barbeque until the veggies are grilled to your taste.
Sweetcorn is tastier when it’s cooked on the barbeque than any other way. Pre-boil the corn until it’s just tender and place it directly on the grill until it’s charred on the outside. Spruce it up with seasoning, or eat it all on its own. Delicious!
Main Dishes
- Salmon
Salmon is a great low-fat alternative to red meat, and is much faster to cook on the barbeque. Place an entire fillet onto a piece of foil that is large enough to make a parcel, and squeeze half a lemon on top. Slice up the other half of the lemon and layer the slices on top of the salmon. Season the salmon to your liking, wrap the foil into a parcel, and place in the fridge overnight. On the barbeque, cook the fillet for about 10 minutes and serve with yoghurt, salad greens, nasturtium flower tops, and crusty bread.
- Roo Meat
Kangaroo meat is much leaner and healthier than other meats, and tastes great when it’s fresh off the barbeque. Liberally coat kangaroo fillets with olive oil, season them with freshly ground pepper, wrap them tightly in Glad wrap, and let them sit for 20 minutes. Once the barbeque is on high, cook the fillets for three minutes on each side and then let them rest for an additional eight minutes.
Dessert
For a tasty, healthy and easy desert, simply chop up a variety of fruit and serve with low-fat yoghurt. Make sure to include fruits that are different colours and shapes to make the dish visually appealing.
Broiled mango is another great treat, as broiling brings out the sweetness and flavour in fruit. Slice the mango into boats and broil them until they are soft. Squeeze some lime juice over them to balance out the flavour and serve with low-fat ice cream.
How Does Raw Food Diet Help In Weight Maintenance and Weight Loss?
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 4 May 2012, 8:52 pm CEST
People during the early eras
are exposed to eating raw foods. It is during these times that
obesity was never a problem and there is decreased incidence of
diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases. Raw food diet produces a
lot of benefits for the person. One of which is the reduction in
weight. Weight loss has been the problem of so many people in word.
And one solution to that is eating raw foods.
Raw food diet provides the person nothing, but the food. It does not contain excess calories that come from other food additives such as sugar, sodium and fats. Since food is the chief reason for being overweight, consuming foods low in calories is an effective means to losing weight.
Raw food diet also reduces the cravings for bad food or unhealthy foods. This is because raw food diet provides the body with clean, healthy foods, which reduce the hunger and the cravings for these unhealthy food choices. Raw food diet also prevents food deprivation because people are not prevented to eat raw foods, because basically, they are healthy, so nothing in excess can cause problems.
Examples of Raw food diet include:
- Raw cheese such as raw sheep and goat cheese
- Raw soups such as cucumber and gazpacho
- Raw nuts
- Raw seeds
- Raw fish such a sashimi, cured fish, cold smoked fish, and ceviche
- Raw fruits
- Dried fruits
- Raw vegetables
- Sprouted breads
- Raw meats such as filet americain, steak tartar and cured meats
- Raw smoothies, juices, ice-creams, cakes
Most of the raw food preparations are still the same with the usual food that we eat. The only difference is that they are raw and the added calories are not present. Among the raw foods, fruits and vegetables have the fewest calories in them. Vegetables and fruits contain glucose and may reduce the appetite for some foods because they already have supplied the body with the needed glucose. Eating raw fruits and vegetables at the start of the meal reduces the intake of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the diet.
Here are some of the raw food diet recipes that can be utilized in order to lose weight:
- Breakfast- at breakfast, squeeze some fresh lemon juice or prepare other fresh fruit juices or smoothies. These already give you an adequate glucose for the morning.
- Lunch- as the time approaches lunch or when you become hungry, try some raw salads made from organic ingredients.
- Dinner- You can try raw pasta with marinara or can have sushi or sashimi.
These are just some of the suggestions for a raw food diet during the day. What is important is try to have as simple meal as possible made from fruits and vegetables that are mainly organic. Raw food diet, aside from weight loss also provides benefits of preventing diseases such a bile and gallbladder diseases because of less fats, diabetes because of less sugar and hypertension because of less sodium and cholesterol. Specifically, raw food diet prevents the possible whipple procedure because of gallbladder problems.

Bird Flu Research: Finally Published After Much Debate
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 4 May 2012, 6:49 pm CEST
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, there has been research taking place pertaining to the bird flu. This research has brought about a lot of debate, controversy, and disagreement. The research was finally published in an online journal called Nature after the U.S. Government approved it. The journal is usually closed to the public but rumor has it that this article is completely open to the public.
This research showed that the H5N1 hybrid virus can be easily mutated and transferred to mammals. In simple terms, this means that the Bird Flu could potentially be transmitted to humans. The controversy in this research is that the Government and researches are not stating that this is happening or that it will happen. The intent of this research is simply to inform the public that this is a possibility and further their knowledge on the subject.

Safety During Tornadoes: Wear a Helmet
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 4 May 2012, 6:39 pm CEST
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has recently brought it to the attention of the public that the main cause of death when tornadoes strike are injuries to the head and neck. After brainstorming about ways to prevent these deaths, the CDC came up with a simple solution that may be helpful in times of danger-wear a helmet.
A helmet, or any type of hard hat, can allow better protection against injuries in relation to the head. This type of protection has not been proven or tested to be efficient yet but the CDC strongly believes that it can be helpful to the public in times of need. With this being said, the CDC says to have a helmet or head protector handy in case the time comes when you will need to use this protection. Also, they do not recommend only using a helmet to stay safe at the time of a tornado. You still need to seek shelter immediately and prepare for the worst.

“Breaking Bad” Meets Reality
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 3 May 2012, 7:48 pm CEST
“Breaking Bad” starring Bryon
Cranston and Aaron Paul and produced by Vince Gilligan (who wrote
on the series, “The X-Files”) is an AMC TV series that tells the
story of a high school chemistry teacher who, after finding out
that he has lung cancer, decides to start making and selling
methamphetamine with a former student to make sure that his family
is taken care of financially after he dies.
The series won six Emmy Awards (part of the twenty six total awards the series racked up while it was on the air) and has a huge following. Questions have been brought up about the reality of the show’s concept. Does this show really depict the truth about “cooking,” selling, and using meth?
Fact or Fiction
Meth addicts and producers alike have sounded out on the show “Breaking Bad” and whether or not it is true to form. Everyone agreed that it is a great show and while there were conflicting opinions on whether the show was based in reality, the unanimous decision was that it was real enough. One recovering addict (who produced, sold and used many years ago) said that the show reminded him of himself when he was producing meth. The one thing that was different, though, he said, was that his life was so much worse than Walt’s and Jesse’s in the show (the teacher and student, respectively).
One current meth user says that it is a very tame representation of what being involved with meth is actually like. And one past producer of meth has probably the most astute opinion of all: while the show is exciting and packed with drama and action, there is very little fact and information about the drug itself in “Breaking Bad.”
The user (who asked to remain anonymous) said that he was “irritated” with one of the few facts that was shown on “Breaking Bad” and that was the one about “meth mouth.” The show apparently portrayed meth mouth (excessive tooth decay ) as something that all meth addicts get from the chemicals that meth is made from, when in actuality, meth mouth comes from having dry mouth, drinking soda (or drinks with a lot of sugar in them) and lack of good general oral hygiene.
“There are plenty of meth addicts running around with perfectly fine teeth,” he said.
Then, there are fans (who aren’t addicted to meth) that say that the show glorifies the use of meth and that it makes the use of meth look “glamorous.” Truth is that meth is a horrible drug that produces even more horrible consequences when used or produced. The people who offered their input about the show spoke from firsthand knowledge.
Some of them had seen loved ones addicted to the drug go through the meth nightmare, some of them had next-door neighbors who had labs in their homes, and some pointed out things that weren’t shown in “Breaking Bad”: spousal abuse, child abuse, addicted parents losing children to foster homes, etc.
There is one thing that the show portrays that is surprising accurate, according to scientists, and that is how the drug is produced or “cooked”. Vince Gilligan said that it was extremely important for the show to get the science of making it just right portrayed correctly. Donna Nelson, who is a professor of organic chemistry at the University of Oklahoma, saw that Gilligan needed a chemist adviser and called and volunteered her assistance. Thus, that part of the show has been unanimously declared authentic.
There is one thing certain about meth use: the appalling repercussions from the abuse of this drug are endless. “Breaking Bad” may not portray all of the problems that meth causes, but it does a good job introducing the concept to its viewers.
This guest post article was written and provided by Gregg Gustafson who is a freelance writer and consultant for Drug-Rehab.org. Gustafson works with individuals who suffer from drug abuse, in turn referring them to some of the most prestige long term drug rehab centers active today.
Finding the Right Plastic Surgeon
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 3 May 2012, 7:46 pm CEST
Finding the right plastic surgeon may take a few months, but it
is essential to feel comfortable with the person who performs your
surgery and trust them fully. Surgery is a complicated process with
many risks involved, so it’s important to take the time necessary
to find the surgeon who is just right for you. Start by asking
friends for recommendations, and bring pictures with you. Ask the
surgeon how many times he or she has performed the procedure that
you are planning before making a commitment. Price is a
consideration for most people, but don’t choose a surgeon just
because they will perform your procedure for less money.
Ask for Recommendations
Friends and family are often the best source of information about a particular surgeon. Even if you are planning a tummy tuck and they had collagen injections or rhinoplasty, a family member or friend is likely to be honest about their surgeon and how they feel about their procedure. It’s a good idea to ask why they chose a certain surgeon and whether they are happy with the choices they made.
Bring Pictures
It’s essential that each patient and surgeon is on the same page when it comes to expectations after a surgery. Bringing pictures of what you want to look like after your procedure can be very beneficial to your outcome, because the surgeon should be able to tell you whether your expectations of what your body will look like after liposuction or another procedure are realistic. It is best if the people in the pictures you bring are similar to you in height and weight. The surgeon will probably also have pictures to share with you, and they should have before and after pictures of various procedures they have performed for your review.
Ask Questions
The surgeon you choose should be up-front about how many times they have performed the procedure you are requesting and whether or not they think you are a good candidate. Beware of conflicting recommendations from different doctors. A third opinion can often be the difference between success and disappointment. A surgeon should also be able to tell you about their educational background and how long they have been performing cosmetic procedures. Pay attention to how comfortable the surgeon seems and whether they offer information in addition to answering your questions. You should feel completely comfortable with your choice of surgeon before your scheduled procedure.
Don’t Make a Decision Based on Price
It’s a good idea to find out the going rate for the procedure you are planning in your area, but choosing a surgeon because they offer lower prices often leads to frustration, poor results, and more cost in the long run. Most surgeons offer payment plans and other financing option to help their customers afford the cosmetic procedures they would like to have done.
Most importantly, you should feel comfortable with the surgeon you choose and trust them completely before your procedure is scheduled. Surgery is an expensive and often life-changing procedure. Doing your due diligence can help you make a positive choice that provides a lifetime of benefits.

3 Ways Green Tea Can Improve Your Health
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 2 May 2012, 11:46 pm CEST
Did you know that drinking
green tea is beneficial to one’s health? Well, research studies
show that green tea comes with many health benefits. In fact, it is
also known to help people lose and maintain their desired weight.
Drinking green tea regularly is also said to help prevent various
diseases.
Here are three ways green tea can improve your health:
1. Green tea is a good source of antioxidants.
Did you know that green tea contains catechins, which are a very powerful antioxidant? Antioxidants help cleanse the body and destroy free radicals. Free radicals are compounds that are known to cause the spread of cancer cells. They result to the destruction of the body’s cells and they damage the body’s DNA. Aging and many other diseases are usually linked with free radicals. As such, we need antioxidants to bring balance to our body’s immune system. With antioxidants, we can look young and stay healthy longer. This also means that green tea helps fight oxidative stresses in the body, which can lead to cancer if not treated immediately. In fact, there are research studies showing that regular consumption of green tea significantly increased the survival rate of some people suffering from cancer.
2. Green tea helps people lose weight and keeps the heart healthy.
Green tea has also been said to help reduce and maintain weight. Studies showed that it increased the rate of fat oxidation. As such, regular intake of green tea over months can significantly help people lose weight, making it a good source of boosting the body’s metabolism. In fact, even decaffeinated green tea has similar benefits. Aside from weight loss, green tea also helps keep the heart healthy by improving blood flow. It is also said to help reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and helps increase the levels of good cholesterol (HDL). Green tea is also known to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and heart problems.
3. Green tea reduces the risk of Type 2 diabetes.
Finally, green tea is said to help prevent Type 2 diabetes, which is becoming common in the United States. This type of diabetes is usually associated with obesity and poor diet.
One to two cups a day of green tea can result to great health benefits to your body. It is highly recommended to drink your own brewed green tea instead of using substitutes such as green tea extracts being sold in the market and packaged green tea drinks which contain a lot of sugar. So if you want to stay young and healthy, drink up!

Sugary Drinks: The hidden damages occuring to our society
GLOBAL GOOD GROUP » Health 1 May 2012, 9:18 pm CEST
Soda, fruit juice beverages, energy drinks, and even sweetened waters are all very common refreshments in today’s society. If you think about it, do you even think twice about ordering a soda when placing an order at a fast food restaurant? Americans are suffering due to this growing issue of health.
These types of beverages are leading individuals to become obsese, suffer from diabetes, and have a poor diet in general. From the 1970′s to the 1990′s, sugary beverage consumption has increased by almost 20% among individuals. This type of behavior along with poor food choices, fast food, and parents not monitoring what they are feeding their children is establishing an extremely unhealthy society.
Do your children a favor as well as yourself and monitor sodas, food choices, and healthy habits of your friends and family in order to better our society and help benefit everyone!
